For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Some say that John 3:16 is one of the most well-known verses in the entire Bible; whether that’s true or not is hard to prove, but it is not difficult to see that John 3:16 is a simple explanation of the way of salvation. Because of God’s love for us, he sent his Son, Jesus, to earth as a man so that Jesus could live a perfect life and die a cruel death not as punishment for his sins but for ours. Eternal life is given to those who believe that they need a Savior because of their sins and that Jesus is that Savior.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Someone might ask: “Is salvation and Heaven only for good people?” or “Is it only for a certain skin color?” or “Does a person have to be chosen?” John 3:16 addresses these questions by mentioning two very important groups: the world and whosoever. The people of the world in the Bible are the inhabitants of the earth, mankind, or the human family. So, when the Bible says that God loves the world, it means that he loves all of the inhabitants of the earth, all mankind, the whole human family. Everyone is included, and no one is left out!
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
Towards the end of John 3:16, Jesus says that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Whosoever is such an important word in this verse. Whosoever doesn’t leave anyone out; it does not show prejudice; it’s not capricious; and it’s not questionable. Whosoever means anyone… anyone who believes in Jesus as Savior has eternal life with God in Heaven..
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5:11,12
“Wait,” you might say. “I’ve done too many bad things; I’ve lived a terrible life; I’ve even cursed God before. There’s no way that he can save me!” Jesus himself said, I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:32. So actually, every person has the same problem. We are all sinners, but thankfully, Jesus came from Heaven as a man to die for all people – all sinners. Thus, whosoever who has done whatsoever can still have eternal life through Jesus Christ..
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18
Since salvation is available to everyone… Choose Christ.
